Sunday 8th August saw the debut of East Herts Radio’s new dedicated sports show. The show is all about covering what’s going on at our local teams aswell as a few wider topics that are relevant to them all.
We began by reporting on the weekend’s fixtures, in the Essex Senior League with Hoddesdon Town’s opening league game away at Clapton FC postponed due to supposed issues at their ground they didn’t play, and it looks like Clapton are having further issues which we will be talking about on this Sunday’s show. Sawbridgeworth Town didn’t get off to the best start going down 8-0 to Woodford Town, with our other team in that league St Margaretsbury losing 3-0 away to Redbridge.
In the Spartan South Midland league Wodson Park lost 4-0 at home to Amthill Town, whilst both Hertford Town and Ware had friendlies with a 4-2 victory for Hertford, and a 2-2 draw for Ware.
During the show we discussed the fact that Ware and Wodson Park had a game against each other in the FA Youth Cup and we were wondering if these grounds were the closest 2 clubs to each other, more on that story on Sunday!
The new sin-bin rules were also discussed, and we will be talking about some further rules discovered this Sunday aswell. The other new rules that have been brought in for the new season were also spoken about, aswell as a bit of everyone’s favourite subject VAR!
Join us both again this Sunday at 9pm on East Herts Radio for all your local updates on fixtures, team news and more!
