90 Minutes Weekend Sports Preview September 28th/29th

The road to Wembley in the FA Trophy starts this weekend with both HERTFORD TOWN and WELWYN GARDEN CITY involved in Preliminary Round ties. HERTFORD travel to Isthmian North Division One side Heybridge Swifts. Unbeaten in their last five games Heybridge will provide a tough test for Ben Herd’s young team. WELWYN GARDEN CITY have home advantage against a Canvey Island side who have only won one of their last four and currently sit 10th in the Isthmian North Division One. In the Essex Senior League as ST MARGARETSBURY will be hoping for their first win since they beat Ilford on September 5th when they entertain Woodford Town at the Recreation Ground. Still looking for their first points of the season SAWBRIDGEWORTH TOWN face a tricky trip to sixth placed Takeley.

WODSON PARK will be looking to build on their midweek draw at London Tigers when they entertain a Buckingham Athletic side currently two places above their hosts in the table.

Four of the top five meet in the Herts Senior County League Division Two as leaders WARE SPORTS Reserves entertain 5th placed Lemsford while third placed HERTFORD HEATH take on fourth placed Hadley Saturday Vets.

In the Hertford and District League, Premier Division leaders WESTMILL are at home to Bocas Jogabonito while Division One leaders WARE TRINITY take on Letchworth.

This weekends Rugby action sees HERTFORD travel to Tunbridge Wells in London South East Premier 1 and WELWYN entertain Hackney in London 2 North West.

HERTFORD Hockey club are in league action with the Men taking on Wapping 4 while the Ladies will be looking to build on last weeks excellent result against Haverhill when they face East London 4.

On Sunday both HODDESDON TOWN OWLS and WODSON PARK LADIES are in Eastern Region Division One action. In the Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire WFL Division One HARTHAM LADIES face a tough game at home to Hemel Hempstead, while WATTON LADIES look for their first win at home Bedford Ladies Development. In Division Three HERTS VIPERS will be hoping to continue their free scoring start to the new season when Stotfold Junior Ladies visit the Baldock Arena.
