Tonight, Wednesday the 10th of June, will be an exciting bingo night fundraiser by Platinum Point for Carers in Herts.
Platinum point is a group in Hertford that adopts a charity each year and tries to raise as much money as they possibly can for them. This year they have chosen Carers in Herts.
Kate Adams a representative for platinum point said: ” We always select small independent local charities, this year Carers in Herts was picked. We felt that the work that they do is invaluable. When we picked the charity we had no idea what would happen in 2020, so now we are understanding more than ever how week can help the charity this week on national carers week.”
Aswell as the bingo night Platinum Point have also been raising money by walking, biking or running 172 miles which is equivalent to the border of Hertfordshire.
Michelle, the CEO of Carers in Herts said: ” I would just like to say thanks enormously to platinum point, I think it’s great because absolutely the point of carers week is to make carers visible and that is what platinum point are helping us to do.
“Carers spend the whole of there lives doing this behind closed doors where very few people ever notice and carers week is about us saying come out from behind the closed doors, that’s not possible this year. So people like platinum point are helping su raise awareness on what carers are doing.
