Henry Moore Studios & Gardens is delighted to announce its Volunteer Open Morning on 25 October 2023. A unique opportunity for individuals with a passion for the arts and outdoors to find out how they can get involved at the former home and workplace of Henry Moore.

Potential volunteers are invited to join the Henry Moore team to learn more about the various opportunities available at the sculptor's former home, including guiding tours, supporting educational programmes and assisting with the gardens. There will be opportunities to explore the gardens and studios where Henry Moore created his masterpieces and to meet with the Studios & Gardens staff and current volunteers, who will provide valuable insights into the history, collections, and ongoing projects at the Henry Moore Studios & Gardens.

There will be refreshments on offer and a question and answer session about the volunteering experience, expectations, and the impact volunteers can have: as well as connecting with like minded individuals who share an enthusiasm for art and culture and becoming part of a vibrant community.

Annie Shrosbree, Volunteer Coordinator at Henry Moore Studios & Gardens, said:

"This is a really exciting opportunity for anyone who has an interest in the arts or love for nature. The open event is a great way to find out more, ask questions and discover all the ways volunteering can enrich lives. Prior experience isn't necessary and volunteers will receive dedicated training and support. Henry Moore Studios & Gardens is a treasure trove of art and history. Whether someone is newly retired, a student looking for work experience, seeking valuable work experience, or simply has a few hours to spare, there are numerous ways for people to become part of our community."

From 1940 until his death in 1986, Moore lived and worked Perry Green near Much Hadham where he acquired over 70 acres of land and set up various studios, creating the ideal environment where he could make and display his work and cater to an international demand for exhibitions. Now open to the visitors, Henry Moore Studios & Gardens offers a unique insight into the artist's working practice and showcases a large selection of Moore's renowned monumental sculptures in the landscape in which they were created. It is home to the Henry Moore Archive, one of the largest single-artist archives in the world.
