Iceland has reduced prices on over 1,000 products to assist people with their cost of living. The supermarket, which operates The Food Warehouse stores, is providing more affordable options for essential items that families commonly use, including freezer fillers and household staples.

They have doubled the number of items with reduced prices for weekly shopping, increasing it from 500 to over 1,000. Iceland claims that it has lowered prices on a greater variety of grocery and household products compared to other UK supermarkets

Some of the discounted items include Lurpak Lighter Spreadable Butter (400g, was £4, now £2.75), Aunt Bessie's Roasties (600g, was £2, now £1.50), and Iceland Chicken Thigh Fillets (1kg, was £6.50, now £6). Back in July, the budget-friendly supermarket revealed a weekly investment of half a million pounds to reduce prices, totalling £26 million annually.

This initiative encompasses their Mix & Match multibuys offer and their selection of £1 frozen 'easy teas'. Richard Walker, executive chairman of Iceland Foods, said: “The cost of living crisis still very much has families in its grip. That’s why we’re committed to keeping prices low across items that our customers actually need.

"In just two months, we’ve doubled the number of price-slashed products and greatly expanded our range of £1 items. It’s our priority to support our customers in any way we can and offer great value when they need it most.”
