New Venue Opening in Sawbridgeworth

Following the news that very sadly an average of 1 music venue is closing per week in the UK, East Herts Radio is very glad to report that a brand new venue is set to be on the cards in our own Sawbridgeworth.

The former Barclays Bank a grand listed building, which has sadly been left to decline in recent years has a hope for a new life as a community hub. The venue will hope to host comedy and music nights in a way that hasn't been locally possible since the loss of nearby "The Gallery"

Following feedback from planners the plans for a change of use for this building have been resubmitted. New plans encompass measures to mindfully address concerns such a noise limitation and parking to ensure the venue can provide a great reasource for the area whilst avoiding any such pitfalls in the immediate neighbourhood.

East Herts Radio remain avid supporters of the local grass roots music scene, and offer exposure and support to upcoming bands. And we go to a fair number of gigs ourselves. Naturally we are totally behind this initiative to revive a tired and derelict building, and create a centre for creativity, socialising and community.

If you are of a mind that this will be a great asset to our town, and offer growth opportunity to nearby businesses too, we ask you to attend in support on Monday 26th Feb at the Sayesbury Manor home of the town council, at the back of the car park. The planning meeting will take place immediately after the council meeting at 7:30pm.

See you there!
